WHERE DOES LYMPNE PARISH COUNCIL FIT IN?

 

Lympne Parish Council is responsible for an area approximately three miles east to west and two miles north to south.
The parish has a population of approximately 2,000 with 1,200 being on the register of electors. It has no offices as such. The council normally meets in the Village Hall Committee Room and the parish records are held by the parish clerk at her home. There are seven councillors plus the clerk who is the only paid employee of the council.
The district council for the area is Shepway District Council.  This covers the southern quarter of the county. Their offices are at Folkestone.
The county council is Kent County Council and its offices are in Maidstone.
